I have a degree in Civil Engineering. I have been a researcher using one of the biggest computers in existence to model river flows, a manager supporting extreme engineering analysis in the City of London, a technology management consultant with an international firm and managed strategic traffic systems businesses.
I remain a member of the Royal Photographic Society having a Licenciate Distinction (LRPS) but have given up my engineering acreditations (CEng, MBCS, CITP, FCILT, FIHE, AMICE) now I am retired. However, I am busier than ever, just not travelling so much...

Catching people doing things right. There are never enough good news stories. I have developed into a videographer supporting charities mostly in St Albans and Hertfordshire. By local individual actions, we can walk more lightly on the earth. My efforts now are focused on promoting climate and biodiversity-friendly change - for the sake of our children and their grandchildren.
My Story - extra bits
More importantly, I have been a photographer for over 50 years and have developed some reasonable further skills in carpentry and joinery since taking my 'O' level in the discipline as a teenager.
Most important of all, I have a wonderful wife and two brilliant children who are now parents each with two children.
Echoing what I did as a young adult eco-campaigner, I have been increasingly concerned about weather extremes, biodiversity loss and the blundering stupidity shown by many of those in government. Greed for power, money or both seem to overshadow decisions that should be protecting our grand children rather than increasing the harm they increasingly will be in as they grow.
All that is left at my great age is to make bread (sourdough off course), ferment food (great for the biome) and lend what skills I can in video making to promote balance and inform decision making in our community. Politicians run shy of Citizen Assemblies it seems as they, predictably, are not coming out with the spinning obfuscation that many in politics seem to prefer.
